Steinway D Concert Grand
(American) The rim was assembled in 1894, and the piano was finished in 1914. From 1914 to 1932 it was featured as a concert piano at the famed Steinway basement. In 1932 the instrument was chosen by Josef Hofmann to serve at his studio at Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. The piano stayed there until 1952 when it was rebuilt by Steinway and sold to a high school in New Jersey. It was bought by Mordecai Shehori in 1991 and went through many improvements and refinements since then. |
